The Postgraduate Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences (PGIHS) at the University of Peradeniya has a proud legacy of academic excellence and has produced a large number of graduates across its Diploma, Master’s, and PhD programs. Over the years, these graduates have gone on to serve in a wide range of professional fields, both within Sri Lanka and abroad, making significant contributions to academia, public service, international organizations, the private sector, and civil society.
In recognition of the valuable contributions of its alumni and the importance of fostering lasting connections, the PGIHS is currently taking steps to formally establish its Alumni Network. This initiative aims to bring together past students from across the globe, creating a platform for engagement, mutual support, and continued collaboration.
As part of this forward-looking vision, PGIHS is also planning to initiate a variety of academic, professional, and social activities in partnership with its General Students’ Society and the soon-to-be-established Alumni Network. These collaborative efforts will include events such as seminars, workshops, mentoring programs, career guidance sessions, and cultural initiatives designed to enrich the experiences of current students and strengthen ties with the alumni community.
This renewed focus on community-building and collaboration reflects PGIHS’s commitment to nurturing an inclusive and dynamic intellectual environment that bridges past, present, and future generations of scholars and professionals.
