About the Congress
The PGIHS Research Congress 2025 (RC-2025) is a prestigious academic event organized by the Postgraduate Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences (PGIHS) at the University of Peradeniya. This congress provides a vibrant platform for postgraduate students, researchers, and academics to present their work, engage in meaningful dialogue, and establish interdisciplinary collaborations.
This year’s theme invites researchers to explore the complexities of social justice, global wellbeing, and environmental changes—three critical dimensions of today’s global transformations.
Purpose and Vision
RC-2025 is designed to:
- Foster a dynamic and inclusive environment for national and international scholars to share their research.
- Encourage interdisciplinary discourse on global challenges such as sustainability, mental health, and equitable development.
- Promote scholarly networking and long-term academic partnerships.
- Contribute to the development of humanities and social sciences in response to contemporary global needs.

Professor Clevo Wilson
Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Australia
Topic: Key insights into social justice, global wellbeing, and environmental transformation.
Guest of Honor:
Mrs. V.S. Saranya
Assistant High Commissioner of India in Kandy, Sri Lanka
She will offer a unique diplomatic and regional perspective to the congress.

The Microsoft CMT service was used for managing the peer-reviewing process for this conference. This service was provided for free by Microsoft and they bore all expenses, including costs for Azure cloud services as well as for software development and support.
Oral Presentation:
All accepted abstracts must be presented in English as oral presentations at the Congress.

RC-2025 is open to all interested participants. Fees are as follows:
- PGIHS Postgraduate Students: LKR 3,000.00
- Local Participants: LKR 5,000.00
- Overseas Participants: USD 50
